Bayer Foundations Fellowships

The Bayer Foundation is proud to announce its Scientific Fellowships for the academic year 2024-2025. These fellowships are designed to augment existing study programs in various scientific disciplines by providing supplementary funding for international placements and research activities. This opportunity is tailored to enrich the academic experiences of MSc, PhD, and medical students by supporting their engagement in complementary scientific studies.

Fellowship Overview:

The fellowship program encompasses three specific areas:

  1. Otto Bayer Fellowships for Drug Discovery Sciences: Open to students in natural science, pharmacy, and data science, focusing on pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare industries.
  2. Jeff Schell Fellowships for Agricultural Sciences: Targeted at students in natural science and data science with projects relevant to the Crop Science industry.
  3. Carl Duisberg Fellowships for Medical Sciences: For students in human and veterinary medicine, medical engineering, applied medical sciences, and public health, including data science applications in medicine.

  • Bachelor students and postdoctoral researchers are generally not eligible.
  • All applications must be in English and submitted through the online portal.

  • The Foundation cannot provide administrative support for language courses, visas, housing, or travel.

Specific Requirements:

Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence in their respective fields and have clear objectives for their international placements. The fellowship can cover travel, living expenses, and exceptional project costs, but not lab consumables, equipment, or course fees.

Application Documentation:
